I would like to take some Taichi classes. I have done a little but still consider myself a beginner. What is the difference between your beginning classes? I am interested in the Tuesday/Thursday morning class since it works well with my schedule.
Thank you
Amanda
Amanda,
We will be starting a new beginning class in late October. The class will meet each Monday and Wednesday from 2-3 pm. This will be Chen style taichi.
An ongoing class can be observed Tuesday & Thursday form 2-3pm.
If you have sufficient experience in taichi you could visit the morning class you spoke of and take with the teacher after or before the class.
Any questions please write or call.

When do new bagua and beginning 24 form tai chi classes start and what are the monthly rates?
thanks,
Mike Tom
Mike,
If you would like to be on our mailing list for new classes and times please post an address. A new 24 form will perhaps start after the new year in 2011. Bagua in our school has usually comes after some years of training but would depend on the student.
Please feel free to contact us with any other questions.

Hello Liu Yu,
A quick hello from Elise in New Zealand, we met at Master Chen’s workshop in San Diego. It was lovely to meet you and I look forward to reading your book, Margaret is half way through it, we are sharing. I thought it would be nice to keep some email contact. Hoping that when we have organised / saved for another trip we can include St Luis Obispo, and who knows maybe we may we may see you (and family) here in NZ in the future. I so enjoyed Chen Xiao Wang and felt that his adjustment and intention had a direct effect on my health and well being not to say improvement in my form. God bless and look forward to meeting again some time. Elise
Elise,
Liu Yu had to return to China, her father was very ill and passed away shortly after her arrival. When she returns she will contact you.
Where do you live and practice in NZ. I spent some time in NZ many years ago and we have always hoped to visit.
Norm Petredean ( husband)
Hello Norm, I am so sorry to hear of Liu Yu’s father passing – a difficult time for you all. My email is comet@comets.co.nz. I live half an hour north of Auckland – a place called Whangaparaoa Peninsula (good luck pronouncing that one). Practice on the North Shore at the North Shore Kenpo and Tai Chi School run by Paul Bryant whom Liu Yu also met the the seminar. Please pass on our best wishes at this time from us all, Elise, Shaarina, Paul, Margaret and Danny. We were impressed by Liu Yu’s warmth and openess not to mention her Tai Chi skills.
I am very interested in learning TAI CHI. Which class can I attend where I will fit in as a new comer. Thank you for your reply.
Kathleen,
We like to start all our beginners togather. Our next class will begin in early November. We will contact you with class dates and time soon. If you would like a hard copy please send a mailing address.

I am looking for a tai chi/kung fu school for my four-year old son, but it seems like the only martial arts schools around here for children are primarily Japanese styles, and I’m not interested in that. Do you teach children, or do you know of a school in the area?
Dear Chris Babb,
We do not have a class suitable for a 4 year old. Our youth program has matured from preteens to teenagers. I am not aware of any other Chinese style schools in the SLO area but that does not mean there are not any.
I usually suggest Akido classes for younger students as I had know there to be classes for children your sons age.
I can only suggest you continue to check with schools in the area.
Thank you for your interest.

It’s a great pleasure talking to you on the phone! Thank you for all the advice, have a nice day!
I am interested in starting tai chi, when is a new class starting and what is the cost.
Cindy
We will not start a new class until summer or fall. We do have a class that meets Monday and Wednesday from 2-3 pm. This class has been going for a couple of months so you would need a private lesson or two to get some of the basics established. Class fees are $80 per month.
Norm
